About this Collection
Vehicle Engineering has changed dramatically over recent years, with electrification and connectivity becoming central to the development of the industry. Manufacturers are modernising engineering activities accordingly, with significant pressure to reduce development time and cost through digitisation of the engineering process. There is also an increasing need to develop and improve new technologies for the next generation of zero and ultra-low emission vehicles.

New topics within Vehicle Engineering include Battery Technology and Machine Intelligence, joining more established research areas such as Aerodynamics, Materials, Structures and Experimental and Computational Fluid Dynamics.

The purpose of this collection is to highlight progress made within Vehicle Engineering projects across all vehicle types.

Potential topics include but are not limited to:
  • Aerodynamics systems and technology
  • Aerospace engineering
  • Alternative power systems and management
  • Applied mechanics
  • Automation
  • Autonomous vehicles
  • Biomechanics
  • Combustion and emission control
  • Computational fluid dynamics
  • Energy management
  • Energy systems
  • Fuels and combustion
  • Green manufacturing
  • Modelling and simulation
  • Nanotechnology for vehicles
  • Noise vibration and harshness
  • Robotics
  • Solid Mechanics
  • Structures and Materials
  • System optimisation
  • Thermo-fluids
  • Vehicle aerodynamics
  • Vehicle dynamics and control
