About this Collection
The immune system protects humans against infection through innate, adaptive and passive immunity. Whilst one can somewhat improve and maintain high levels of immunity across their lifespan through natural habits such as consuming a healthy diet, being physically active and getting sufficient levels of sleep, it remains possible for allergies, infections and disorders to disrupt the immune system and subsequently impact human function. To treat and prevent disruptions to the human immune system, vaccines, nutritional interventions and many other processes have been implemented for those who require immunity support.
This collection aims to provide Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe beneficiaries with a space to rapidly and transparently publish their work within the broad area of immunology to facilitate the understanding and strengthening of immunity-related research.
The scope of the collection includes but is not limited to:
Immunology researchers with a focus on cancer are encouraged to submit their articles via the collection dedicated to cancer (here), as well as drug-related articles to the collection dedicated to pharmacology and pharmaceuticals (here). Please do discuss your submission with the editorial office if appropriate.
All article processing charges will be covered centrally by the European Commission.
Open Research Europe requires open access to research data supporting articles under the principle ‘as open as possible, as closed as necessary’. All articles should include citations to repositories that host the data underlying the results, together with any information needed to replicate, validate, and/or reuse the results/your study and analysis of the data. We recognise there may be exceptions due to ethical, data protection, or confidentiality considerations, or because the data have been obtained from a third party and access restrictions apply.
