About Healthcare and Policy

With the rich and vast volume of information publicly available today, healthcare policies are readily shared for all to read. These healthcare policies, referring to both physical and mental health, are created by healthcare professionals to govern management and treatment strategies of diseases. Whilst the regularity of healthcare policy introductions and updates are relevant to the disease referred to, the health and safety of the general population remains paramount.

This collection aims to provide Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe beneficiaries with a space to openly publish work within the broad area of healthcare and policy to contribute to the healthcare demands of society, and to ensure that all voices are heard.

The scope of the collection includes but is not limited to:

• Patient quality of care
• Physical and mental health
• Elderly, adults and adolescents
• Bridging gaps between big data and data protection
• Advantages and disadvantages of social media use
• Efficiency and effectiveness of macro and micro healthcare systems

All article processing charges will be covered centrally by the European Commission.

Open Research Europe requires open access to research data supporting articles under the principle ‘as open as possible, as closed as necessary’. All articles should include citations to repositories that host the data underlying the results, together with any information needed to replicate, validate, and/or reuse the results/your study and analysis of the data. We recognise there may be exceptions due to ethical, data protection, or confidentiality considerations, or because the data have been obtained from a third party and access restrictions apply.
