About this Collection
The European Union’s Mission “Adaptation to Climate Change” aims to support at least 150 European regions and communities towards climate resilience by 2030. The interconnections between oceans, atmospheric conditions, polar ice and terrestrial ecosystems will be essential for monitoring shifts and modelling potential global outcomes of how we adapt to our changing climate.
This collection draws on the interdisciplinary nature of climate research in the Horizon funding programmes, looking at both current climatic conditions as well as the lessons that can be learned from climatic changes in the past. Articles should provide data and methodologies to support decision making and planning, as well as monitoring, reporting, and evaluating climate change. Potential topics could include but are not limited to:
  • Aerosol particles, dust clouds, and air quality
  • Ice-ocean systems and glacial changes
  • Ocean and soil carbon capture
  • Extreme weather events
  • Paleo-atmospheric dynamics
  • Modelling long-term climate change
  • Human impact on climate change
  • Climate change policy and social impact
Only work funded by Horizon 2020 and/or Horizon Europe is eligible for publication on Open Research Europe and all article processing charges will be covered centrally by the European Commission.
